Filming At Chor Bazaar, Mumbai

Chor Bazaar, the famous flea market, (translates as Thief’s Market) is a crazy jumble of narrow streets and alleys full of people selling the most unbelievable wares and trinklets. Ask me where you’ll find spare parts of a gramophone or 200 year old post-cards (used ones too) and I’ll send you off to Chor Bazaar.

Oh, and pull out a film camera anywhere in India, and you’ll have an audience quicker that you can turn around, and they’re likely to give you expert advice on direction, dialog, lighting and just about anything else – without you asking, of course.

  1. Chor Bazar or CBZ as its popularly known is a sight on Friday early mornings. The street culture of the city is alive with underground activity here. ‘Imported toys’ to the chassis of a vehicle, you can get it all.
