Quite possibly the quirkiest “train” that runs on the Indian Railways. This railbus runs from the town of Shimoga in Karnataka to Talguppa on the foothills of the Western Ghats. This railbus basically conists of an ancient Ashok Leyland engine tacked on to a hand built body and chasis. It is driven exactly like a bus, except that there is no steering!

I took the picture at a station called Sagar where the entire train including the driver gets down and heads across the road for breakfast!
