This prayer room at Kanheri, Mumbai, was carved out of one single rock in 1st century B.C.! Kanheri Caves had become an important Buddhist settlement on the Konkan coast by the 3rd century A.D.

Awesome creature… the real and pure architecture.. must visit.. One day is not enough to see the whole beauty of KANHERI CAVES.. will come back soon..
This must be made from a very very big rock. The rock must be of the same size of this prayer room. It must be shaped. I took this photo and information for my history project. But I am really amazed that how can one make such a beautiful prayer room just with only one rock and also it has been designed so nicely!
