Lightening Strikes Tyada
A bit of patience, luck and beautiful weather. Tyada, is a very quiet hill station. Absolutely no phones work here, neither landline nor mobile.

This is a great shot man…….I’ve myself tried capture lightening but none as clear as this one.
Lovely picture. Nature has such amazing shows and you have captured it!. How does one photograph lightning?
@Promeet – Thanks, I got lucky, there was thunder and lightening for over an hour and I had enough time to keep tinkering.
@Radha – On digital, the lowest ISO your camera permits, about 10 second shutter speed(or bulb mode), tripod(for sure) and as wide as your lens can go as you dont know where its going to strike.
In short, you want lots of light to hit your sensor but not so much that the sky is too bright and the streak of lightening shouldn’t get lost in the bright sky. Hence the lowest iso. This one isnt perfect but the best I could manage.
Fabulous!
Just wonderful
