One of the most scenic train rides I have had is in a passenger train from Koraput Orissa to Vishakhapatnam via Rayagada in a passenger train. It starts at 5.30 am and goes through the tribal forests, plains and hills of Orissa. The tickets for this train cannot be booked online and it has only 1 general class, no disctinctions. This is a train for the people. It is a part of the lives of the people in that region. Fishermen, labourers, students, just about everyone from the region boards this train. This is the only mode of speedy transport available.
The photo was shot at Koraput railway station on a gloomy Sunday morning before the train set off on its journey.

Absolutely love the description of the pic!
