With the Philosophy of “Learning by Doing”, Vigyan Aashram has developed a curriculam for one subject, which focuses more on activity rather than theory. This subject called as IBT (Introduction to Basic Technology) is now taught in more than 100 rural schools across Mahashtra.

The gallery is filled to capacity and you finally find your seat, amongst the buzz of eager homo sapiens. Tickets are checked, you recline to a comfortable position and then the show begins, oblivious to the many eyes that fail to appreciate the artistic composition of a million framed pictures on display. The spectacle of nature; the ‘Sliding Windows’.

The arrival of the monsoons mean that dried up ponds and lakes teem with fish and other creatures. This in turn draws the people who catch them. And such people often resort to dangerous tactics to get their prize.

The teenager in this shot is precariously balanced on the side wall of a rail bridge to get his catch. Locomotives, wagons and coaches are less than a feet away from him.

While returning from Independence Day celebrations, I chanced upon theses two kids dressed in the tricolor (orange and green shirts, white pants). They probably planned it but I like to believe it was a lucky coincidence.
